A few young Ezo red foxes (kitakitsune / Vulpes vulpes schrencki) and many Ezo deers live on the highlands close to our house near Kushiro Marsh National Park. One of the foxes was on the way back from a nearby forest. The snow was a bit deeper than a few weeks ago, and he was having a hard time to descend a hill. The last time I saw him, he was covered with mud and snow, maybe he was struggling to find his food. He looked less tired and cleaner today, hopefully he had a successful hunting for the day.
